The Most Phenomenal Week For Aroha Silhouettes

It has been an amazing week here at Aroha Silhouettes! Promotion is lots more fun than I expected. The week begain with my very first front page appearance. So maybe it was in the middle of the night - but I was on the front page of Etsy!



From there things just went up and up and UP. I've been a huge fan Sub-studio design blog for yonks, so it was awesome that Anna liked my designs and featured me on their site. Jena over at Modish wrote the most incredible things about my collection, I wanted to give her a big smooch when I read it!

I was totally blown away to be featured on Notcot and Notcouture, two huge design inspiration websites.

Then came this amazing cascading effect all over the internet! I was featured on the Ponoko blog , Chic By Nature, Set Your Style and She Walks Softly. Talk about fabulous google alert overload!

To celebrate the unbelievable week at Aroha Silhouettes, we headed to all you can eat chocolate buffet on Friday night. I can't believe something so amazing exists. I was in heaven, chocolate overload heaven. Mmmmmmm.

What's Next???

Everythings up on Etsy, it's looking great, but what do I do next? Where to from here? All the goals I made led up to me putting together a great collection and getting into my own Etsy shop.

So the next step for Aroha Silhouettes = PROMOTION! Time go get out there and get my amazing designs seen and heard of! Hiding in the jewellery section of etsy seems like a bit of a lost cause sometimes, it's beyond over crowded and I'm lost in a sea of other extremely talented (and not so talented) designers. It's time to ditch the shy 'what if people don't like my designs?' wah wah wah attitude and get out there!

Also, last weekend Mark helped me get some photos of me wearing my pieces. I cropped them up and was stoked with how they turned out ...


I was even more stoked to discover that when I added the photo of me wearing my pieces as the thumbnail picture, views doubled. Interesting.

The Vinyl Record Phantasmal Collection

I am so excited to finally release my very first jewellery collection, Phantasmal! Twelve deceptive designs that appear as beautiful three dimensional silhouettes when worn. Made from reclaimed 12" vinyl records and high quality sterling silver chain and findings, each piece is one of a kind due to the unique grooves present in the record prior to cutting.
